Sunsets

I love sunsets. If you have had a perfect day then it is just a perfect ending to the perfect day. But if you have had a crummy day...then it is a nice apology from the universe.

Sweet Grandma

My sweet Grandma Angle sends me letters sometimes. Often she includes pictures in the letters. I really love pictures in general. Sometimes she includes pictures I have seen a million times, but sometimes there are pictures from the same photo shoot as the ones I recognized that I have never seen before. For instance...

Seen a million times.

Never seen before.

And sometimes the pictures she sends me makes me notice things I have never noticed before.

This is a new one from Grandma that I am sure I have seen before.

This picture is from my collection. I wonder where she got her talent for holding kitties.

Thank you Grandma!

Bridal Showers

So.....I threw a bridal shower this weekend. Bridal showers are not my talent. I made some cute little sandwiches in the shape of hearts (thanks to my cousin Malea who had the heart cookie cutter and cut them all for me!)

and I made cupcakes my famous chocolate and carrot cake (the bride requested carrot cake, and I was super surprised how yummy they turned out.)

And all in all, I think the Bride was happy, so that makes it a success...right?!

Auntie Merry Weekend

This past weekend, my Aunt Merry came to visit. We have always been really good friends but I can not remember the last time it was just me and her hanging out. She finally came to visit me for the weekend in my all grown up apartment. On Saturday we took a little trip down to the ghetto so she could see Stephen's Alma Mater, USC, and then we headed over to Westwood to visit my Alma Mater.

I promise those are not Rechenmachers with unicycles...unless they are Rechenmachers we do not know.

After UCLA we went down to the cemetery with all the celebrities in it. Farah Fawcett has been added since I was there last. That cemetery always trips me out because it is so pretty and such a contrast to the high rise buildings behind it on Wilshire. It is also so strange to see the names of so many famous people and no security. Another thing I noticed this time is what they add to their stones. The really famous people like Farah Fawcett put nothing besides thier name. Not even dates. Then there are the people who do not add dates but try to be humurous and witty even in death. For example: Rodney Dangerfield "There goes the neighborhood," Billy Wilder "I'm a writer, but then nobody's perfect." etc. And then there are those that are not that famous and are still trying to be noticed. One of the stones had a name (please forgive me whoever is under the stone, I already forgot who you are because you were really that forgettable) and underneath it "Creator, writer and director of the "Young and the Restless" and the "Bold and the Beautiful." Poor man can not even rest now. He is still trying to be someone. hmmm.... I wonder what I would put on my gravestone now if I had to choose now.....

Gimme oysters and beer
For dinner every day of the year and I'll feel fine

Evan Steele

On Saturday Conrad and I got to babysit Melinda's baby Evan. He was so much fun. He was very happy to just roll over and over on the floor. When he got to the edge of the rolling area Conrad would put him back at the beginning and he would start the rolling process all over again. All in all a fun Saturday night.

A little boy time. I do not know what they were chatting about.

Tourists with Cameras

So I see these vans all the time drive past me while I work. When I see them they are always full of tourist with cameras and of course a tour guide with a microphone. They always make me giggle. And they make me happy. They make me feel lucky that I get to live in a place that people want to vacation. I get to live in a place that people save to see for a few days. And I do not have to go home....oh yeah, cause I get to live here. I love LA.
