Toes
Or more like toerings. So I have worn the same toering for nine years now. It has only come off a few times when a pedicurist takes it off against my will. And I decided this week it was time to be done with it. I know it sounds silly, but it was a big deal for me. I put it on the first time I went to St. John....

Like List
I love lists. This is no secret. A long time ago I made a "Like List." I figured that there were a million things I liked in life and it would be better to focus on them instead of making a "Pet Peeve List."
I remember that some of the things on my "Like List," might no longer have their spot. Like swinging on swings. I still like the idea, but now they make me feel sick. I still like the smell of freshly cut grass. I still like springtime in the mountains, in fact whenever the memory crosses my mind I get quite homesick. I like my old Nova and I am secretly hoping to buy it back from my uncle someday, he just doesn't like it as much as I do. I like hearing babies laugh. I like my Jetta.
So what are things that make you happy? Things that make you smile?

ALF
It is the little things in life that make me smile. One of them happens to be a little furry thing. Yes, I love ALF.

That's all. He makes me smile, even better, he makes me laugh. I remember liking him when I was a kid. Now when I watch him, I wonder why I thought he was funny. Most of the show only makes sense to me now. I love that I lose myself in the show and I forget he is a puppet. And I love Willie Tanner, or as he is known by some, the Poor Man's Christopher Walken.

Jetta Envy (cont.)
So I heard on the radio today that there is a new limited California edition Jetta. Don't even ask what this does do me! California? Jettas? Two of my favorite things, combined?!

Disadvantaged?
So lately I have been in many clinics in less than wealthy areas of LA, and I have started wondering if people who are considered poor are in fact disadvantaged due to circumstances that they cannot control, or if they simply have misaligned priorities or a compulsion to make bad decisions. Many doctors tell me that their patients will not pay for a brand name drug or that they cannot afford it. That is confusing when I see a lot of Coach bags, acrylic nails and tattoos in the waiting room. All of those are expensive items and it does not seem to be a problem for the patients to afford them. I guess what I am seeing is a sort of rich poor people. Because truly poor people cannot live like that.

Jetta Envy
Years ago, I used to see Jettas on the road and want one so bad. I would notice them everywhere. And then I bought one. It still took me a while to stop noticing them on the road. I caught myself wishing I had one, before I realized I was driving one. It made me laugh. When I was a kid it always seemed like if I got what I always wanted, it wasn't what I wanted once I had it, or it wasn't what I imagined. Or I never got what I wanted and grew out of the desire to have whatever the object is. I think that is human nature. But back to the Jetta....I loved that Jetta. It smelled of crayons. I had it through college and used it in my first job coldcalling. Then minor little things started to make me worry that it would break down and I couldn't afford that, so I traded it in for a new Jetta. I missed the smell of crayons, but I really loved the new Jetta too. Just love that car.
And now I have a fabulous new job and they gave me a car. How cool is that?! But I miss my Jetta. Just the other day I caught myself noticing a Jetta on the road and wishing I had one. I am right back to where I started...
