Sales People

I do not really like sales people. Hmmm....does that say something about my self image? They are usually annoying, too pushy when I am not interested and then nowhere to be found when I have questions or am ready to make a purchase.

Sales people love recognition, but sometimes I wonder if that recognition could be detrimental. For instance there is a car dealership that I drive by everyday. And every month they put up a picture of the salesman of the month. It is ALWAYS Rich Clark. I appreciate the heads up. If I ever went to that lot to peruse the cars, I would avoid him.

But I am very grateful to have had my experinces in sales. I just do not think it is something I want to do forever.

Halloween

This Halloween I got talked into dressing up for the first time ever. C'mon, who wouldn't want to be attacked by a swarm of butterflies?! As Miiish says, "Better than being attacked by a swarm of sharks!" I cannot disagreed. Jeannette and I fluttered and buzzed around Santa Monica. First to Tate's, then to Yogis Anonymous and ending up at the King's Head, because all the momentous events of my life tend to end up at the KH, and finally the Shangri La.

My Peter Pan moment

Thanksgiving Part I

Thanksgiving just was not coming quickly enough. So we had an early Thanksgiving dinner! Thomas and Malea hosted the event. Thomas proved he is citizenship worthy by helping create a fantastic evening.

Jake was bored and asked me to get him a game...turns out all I had was playing cards, and that was good enough for him.

Cribbage

I recently met someone who knows how to play cribbage. Nice discovery. We have played several times and have to keep score on paper, which is just not the same. Cribbage needs the scoring board. Which makes me wonder why I do not use the cribbage board to keep score for other games. hmmm... About a week ago I got serious about finding a cribbage board. No more paper score keeping for me. I had a little bit of a problem. I did not want an ugly board or a cheap board. I blame this pickiness on my Dad. The only board I found was at Target and I voted in favor of spending one more evening scoring on paper instead of spending my hard earned money. I resorted to Ebay. I will never doubt Ebay again. Now I have a fantastic cribbage board that has character.

Come play cribbage with me! I am learning how to be a better loser, and a better winner too!

Post Season

I never let myself get my hopes up when baseball enters the post season. The Angels seem to always get swept by the Red Sox. If we have to lose, I do not mind losing to the Red Sox, but I would prefer to win. When the regular season, Uncle Toby called me immediately to say he scored us some tickets to see the Angels if they made it past the Red Sox. The day before the first game with the Red Sox he called to say he could not stay away and wanted to to see the Angels and Red Sox. Of course I had to go....but I was counting on a loss. It turned out to be a fantastic night. A few drinks before going in, a few drinks inside. Toby proving his age by stuffing paper napkins in his ears at the beginning of the game. Toby arguing who was uglier Youklis or Lackey with a Red Sox fan, and of course a Sox fan getting escorted out. I am super happy that I got to see game one of the Angels sweeping the Red Sox!

Now it is time to face the Yankees. Let's Go Angels!

Roommates

I have had a few roommates in my time. But this last week is the first time I had a roommate that brought a live mouse in the house and let it go. It was also the first time I had to clean my roommate's poop off the carpet. And the first time I had a roommate that only seemed to want my attention at 3:30am.

I was housesitting for some friends of mine, so I could take care of their cat, Miss Purdy. And I have to say that it is a good thing I like Miss Purdy, because otherwise it might have been an annoying week. As it is....I am not sure how I will handle this first night alone in my house without Miss Purdy waking me up. Nothing like opening your eyes and seeing Miss Purdy's face two inches away intently staring at you.

Petco Park Adventure!

So...October 3rd 2009, and I can check Petco Park off my list. Ok, so it was never on my list, but I can cross it off any future list. Jeannette and I drove to Anaheim to catch the train down, but first we had to stock up on supplies. Sounds a little like the Oregon Trail! Lime Perrier? Check.

Lime Perrier? Check! Red Tom's Shoes? Check!

That is us on the Surfliner. I must say we always have a good time, and I feel that we do a good job of entertaining anyone around us as well.

And our Toms shoes on the surfliner.

I do not always want to have my picture taken. This is what can occur when someone tries to take my picture against my will.

Petco Park! Within our sights!

On top of the Marriott, at the bar. Thank you Jersey Girl for taking our picture. Sorry you can not see any of the British Airforce boys that entertained us up on top of the Marriott!

Petco Park as seen from the top of the Marriott.

Thank you Jeannette for trying to look as short as me. Ooooh, look at those hot red shoes!

And here we are in Petco Park looking back at the Marriott.

All-You-Can-Eat-Seats? Jeannette and I made the observation that the All-you-can-eat-seats tend to fill up with larger people. hmmmm....

And the last little fun piece of the day....Twining and his girlfriend Shadow!
