Peace Corps

When I first came to LA, I knew no one. My first year at school I met some of the coolest people I have ever known. It all began on my 24th birthday. My friend Darshan wanted to create a birthday party for me, but I didn't know too many people and the people I did know, didn't know each other. So we invited them all anyway. And some of them brought along their roommates or other people in the building. Before the night was over we had created the Alpha Beta Sigma Frezority. (It is a long story but we were making fun of frat boys who are always talking about going back to their house to party. Alex was asking if we wanted to come back to the Alpha house which was his suite, and the next thing we knew we had created the frezority. We named it Alpha Beta Sigma because we established the frezority when we got to Alex, Vas, and Sam's suite.) After that first year, a few of our frezority members went back to their respective countries since they were exchange students. After the second year and graduation, some moved away. There are few of us left. And today, one of the few of us left in LA went and deserted us! It is for a good cause. Arjun has joined the Peace Corps and is off to teach math and science to children in Ghana. As Miiish says, "Arjun is going to Africa. Africa is not ready." A few weeks ago we had a little farewell party for our Arjun. Frezority members came from Northern California and we had a fabulous evening.

The Alpha Girls

What is left of the Alphas. Sherri was there that night but ditched before the picture. I promise I wasn't the only girl.

Morgan, Miiish, me, and Dave. The summer after graduation I lived with Morgan and Miiish and Dave ended up moving into the apartment above us. He hung out with us a lot due to the fact that his roommate was sincerely crazy.
