Strawberry Jam

Jeannette and I decided to do something that we figure all young single girls do every weekend in LA. We made strawberry jam! We picked up the strawberries at a farmer's market near Santa Monica and we had such a hard time getting the vendor to believe we wanted as many as we said. We asked for a flat, and he tried to give us just a few baskets.

Here are the beauties before we really got started.

Thanks to the shark for trying out all the different types of pectin, we went straight for the pink box.

We made a fabulous new cocktail for the day. Actually we doctored up a cocktail recipe we had created a few days prior. Mango vodka, peach nectar, lime juice, club soda.....and of course some mashed up strawberries. It was amazing and was perfect for the Happiness Campaign.

You promised to save a jar of jam for me, DON'T FORGET! The king of Scrabble could use a dose of the happiness elixir too. Now I understand why mythology ascribes depression to monarchs; it's so lonely at the top.

1st, I am so proud of you! It feels good to be productive, providing for your family doesn't it! (family of one...or 6, family none the less!)

2nd, no WONDER why I'm depressed. Thank you Uncle for that. It is lonely at the top! me, the Queen of EVERYTHING!
