Perfect Weekend

Even though I did not have the money to go to the East Coast and take in a few baseball games last weekend, I have absolutely no regrets!! It was exactly what I needed.

Before our plane even left LA, my stomach already hurt from laughing. But that is nothing new considering I was with Uncle Toby. I think we are each other's perfect audience. Toby was not too pleased with the flight to New York since he claims he could smell urine the entire time. This of course makes me giggle still remembering his obvious discomfort. When we reached NY at 6am on Saturday, it was raining with a forecast of thunder showers.

I was a bit bummed to say the least at the prospect of the game being rained out after going such a distance. We decided to go to the stadium even if it was raining. Luck was on our side. It quit raining and got very sunny....that of course included humidity. We were so happy to not have our dreams of seeing a ballgame at Yankee Stadium dashed that we suffered gladly in the heat and humidity!

Early Sunday morning we went to Penn Station to catch the train to Boston. This was our first station on the trip from NY to Boston. I particularly like this picture because it reminds me of when I was little and wanted to be an artist and trying to figure out how to draw and studying vanishing points.

I like trains. And I know Toby was enjoying the transportation sans urine smell! Although he was not so pleased to discover the state of disrepair that his glasses had fallen into while in his backpack.

I am not so much a fan of Dunkin Donuts....I remember the first time I tried it....a rainy day in NYC in 2002 with two of my favorite people in the world...you know who you are. We sat at that table in the window and watched the people walk by. But New Englanders think that DD is the best coffee in the world. I took this picture mostly to taunt a Bostonian friend of mine that misses DD since he now lives in LA.

And finally FENWAY!! I absolutely loved the day in Boston! It was perfect! Not hot, not cold, breezy, absolutely perfect. Fenway has a much more comfortable feel. Being at Yankee Stadium felt like it was all about the money. Fenway felt like it was all about the baseball. Two completely different experiences. All in all it was a perfect weekend. I would have changed nothing.

Next Summer.....Wrigley Field!!

How funny that me, "the purse person" did not even notice the purse until after I read the comment and I had to go back through and find it. I started laughing out loud when I saw the pic of Toby's glasses, and wouldn't you know that at that moment the phone rang at work and I had to pick it up and could not stop laughing... Luckily the woman was amused.
