I have noticed that apparently one Christmas song per year annoys me with its lack of logic. Last year it was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. This year, Last Christmas by George Michael caught my eye or ear.
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
So, let me get this straight he gave his heart to someone that gave it away. Ok, so he did not do much research or he was just impulsive. Mistakes happen. But this year he is planning on giving it away again?! And why is he giving it to someone special this time? He gave his heart to someone unspecial last year? Which makes me wonder if he is just trying to make last year's recipient jealous by saying someone special gets it this year. But why would they be jealous of someone getting a re-gifted heart? And why is he still singing a year later to someone that hurt him so much? Why is this a Christmas song that they play over and over? It is a silly song.
