Vintage Clothing

When I was a kid I remember reading books such as the Sweet Valley Twin series and being bummed that I would never have a sister that could share clothes with me. I never thought then that I had something better. I have a great grandma that shares her clothes with me.

I was not exactly amused when the idea hit originally hit her. I was a senior in high school and she asked my mom if I was going to my senior prom. Mom let her know that dances were not exactly my thing. Minnie seemed appalled at the idea that I might miss my senior prom and lovingly offered to loan me a dress so I would have something to wear to the event. Needless to say, I skipped the prom even though I had a dress available.

Lately, every time I visit her house she tells me to go look in her closet and to take anything that I would like. This time I went into the closet desperately hoping to find something I could like. I saw a coat that was a light blue and tan plaid that I thought might work, but once I tried it on, I quickly nixed it. When she realized I was not going to take anything, she directed me to go to the front closet and look for a green wool coat with a fur collar and to take it if it pleased me.

I was very happy to admit that it fit perfectly and I am now the proud owner of this killer coat from my great grandma Minnie.
