I Would Make a Goooood Wife

I don't have Libby around to tell me what a good wife I would make, so I am going to go ahead and congratulate myself. Tonight I did the most housewifey thing I have ever done in my entire life and instead of being embarrassed, I am actually proud.

So I have been trying really hard to not spend any money at all. Well, I do buy food and gas, but that is pretty much it. Yes, that means I do not go out for drinks anymore. I haven't had a drink at Paradise in over a month.

I have been making my own lunch and breakfast. Here is the problem. I don't like anything I make. I can make things I like for dinner because I have time. But I definitely do not get up in time to make anything I want to eat for breakfast, so I usually end up with yogurt or oatmeal at the office. Oh ick. And for lunch, since I am always out in the field and not in the office, I am very limited. I used to make myself PeanutButter and Jelly sandwiches, but I HATE them. The only reason I make them is that they are easy to make. I usually can only choke down about half and then I throw it away. So that obviously isn't working. I have been making turkey sandwiches, but those are only getting half eaten now too.....

But back to my achievement for today... I suddenly remembered the crazy food making that the GB's do around AM time, and I decided to try the "prepare ahead and freeze" method. I bought myself some english muffins, eggs, and cheese and I made myself some breakfast sandwiches. In fact I made six! And they are all in the freezer. Now all I have to do is take one with me to work in the morning and throw it in the microwave!

oh, brookey, you would make a good wife. There is no doubt in my mind. However, there is one thing you should know... the German Baptist ladies do not have a patent on the "making and freezing" food. You can do that all you like and you dont even have to give them credit. The person who deserves the glory is Mr. Icebox. or whoever invented the freezer.
